Occupational health

A full employer programme run to the federal standard, with paperwork that survives an audit and results the same business day.

How this works at QuickCare

Occupational medicine is regulatory work as much as clinical work. A DOT physical follows 49 CFR 391.41. Respirator clearance follows OSHA 1910.134 Appendix C. Hearing conservation follows 1910.95. Drug collection follows 49 CFR Part 40. Get the paperwork wrong and the exam is worthless, however good the examination was.

We run the programme as a programme: one named coordinator per account, a documented authorised-sender list so results only go to people entitled to receive them, and same business day reporting of anything that affects whether an employee can work.

We are also blunt about what we are not. We are not a workers' compensation case-management company, and we do not adjudicate claims. We evaluate, document, treat and write restrictions a supervisor can actually implement.

What is included

  • DOT physicalsExaminers listed on the FMCSA National Registry. MCSA-5875 long form and MCSA-5876 certificate issued on site.

  • Respirator medical clearanceOSHA 1910.134 Appendix C questionnaire, spirometry where indicated, and qualitative or quantitative fit testing.
  • Audiometric testingBaseline and annual audiograms with standard threshold shift calculation under 1910.95.
  • Work injury evaluationSame-day assessment, treatment, imaging and a first report of injury completed while the employee is here.
  • Return-to-work documentationWritten restrictions with weights, hours and specific movements, not vague advice.
  • OSHA recordability opinionA clear statement of whether the case is first aid or recordable, with the reasoning attached.

Do not come here. Call 911, or go to an emergency department, for:

  • Crush injury, amputation or a limb trapped in machinery
  • Chemical splash to the eye, which needs immediate irrigation and an emergency department
  • Electrical injury of any voltage with a loss of consciousness
  • Suspected heat stroke: hot dry skin, confusion, temperature above 104 F

QuickCare is an urgent care clinic. We do not treat life-threatening emergencies, and we will call an ambulance for you if you arrive with one.

Questions about occupational health

Up to 24 months. The examiner may certify for 12 months or less when a condition such as hypertension, diabetes on insulin or sleep apnoea needs closer monitoring. That is a federal rule, not a clinic preference.

Yes, walk in during occupational hours. Bring your licence, glasses or hearing aids, a medication list, and any specialist letters such as a sleep study compliance report.

Only the people on your authorised-sender list. Drug screen results go to your designated employer representative or medical review officer, never to a supervisor who happens to call.

We give you a documented clinical opinion with our reasoning, including whether treatment went beyond first aid as OSHA defines it. The recording decision remains the employer's.

General information only, not medical advice. It cannot replace an examination, and it does not create a provider and patient relationship. If this is a medical emergency, call 911.
